The Australian National Audit Office (ANAO) has recently released a new performance audit report, Implementation and Performance of the Cashless Debit Card Trial — Follow-On.

This follow-on audit provides the Parliament with assurance as to whether:

  • the Department of Social Services has addressed the agreed 2018–19 Auditor-General recommendations;
  • the Department of Social Services’ management of the extended Cashless Debit Card (CDC) program is effective; and
  • the extended CDC program was suitably informed by a second impact evaluation of the CDC Trial.
