The report details the enforcement of the Taxpayers’ Charter by the ATO. The findings of the report suggest that Australia has favourable conditions compared to its international counterparts and that any additional legislative measures would be difficult to enforce due to prohibitive costs on taxpayers. The view of the IGT is that there are administrative measures which the ATO could undertake to improve taxpayer outcomes before legislative changes are needed. The report can be found here.
