The report finds that there are positive social effects from volunteering and giving, however, barriers exist and there is scope for more effective engagement through Program Related Investment. The report forms part of the Department of Social Services’ larger research objective of improving the knowledge base about giving and volunteering patterns and trends to support evidence-based policy development.
