For the review of the tax treatment of digital assets and transactions in Australia, the Board of Taxation has recently published a consultation guide which provides an overview of crypto assets and the current taxation treatment. The guide outlines recent relevant government reports and announcements and poses a series of questions for interested parties to consider when formulating input to the review.
The Board welcomes any written submission response to the consultation guide. They should be made before 30 September 2022.
The Board will also held a series of public consultation session in September.
