Australia is ranked 6th most generous country in the world, according to the recently published CAF World Giving Index 2017. This is the first time Australia has fallen out of the top five, falling three places from last year’s no. 3.

The CAF World Giving Index is an effort by the UK-based Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) to look at how and why people around the world give to charity. The 2017 index is its eighth edition and it covers 139 countries in the survey.

According to the index, Myanmar is the most generous country in the world, followed by Indonesia, Kenya, New Zealand and the USA.
