The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) has published the analytical guide ‘2018-19 Federal Budget Measures and Start Dates’, to assist the public with resourcing for the purposes of software development.

The guide is an overview of major and related measures in the 2018-19 Budget for:

  • Small business
  • Indirect tax
  • Individuals
  • Enterprise solutions and technology
  • Tax Practitioners Board
  • Debt
  • Superannuation
  • Private groups and high wealth individuals
  • Public groups and international, and
  • Other measures.


The Budget 2018-19 was released on Tuesday 8 May 2018.

The measures announced as part of the Budget 2018-19 are subject to receiving royal assent and are therefore not yet law.

While the Australian Taxation Office provides input on tax and superannuation policies, the Australian Government is responsible for the legislation. The ATO then administers the legislation on the government’s behalf.
