The Australian Government has released the latest 2022-23 Tax Expenditures and Insights Statement.
Other than providing estimates of the revenue forgone from tax expenditures, this year’s revamped report also includes distributional analysis on large tax expenditures and commonly utilised features of the tax system.
This allows a comparison of how different groups are affected by these elements of the tax system based on their income, gender and age for individuals, and industry for businesses.
