We extend our sincere thanks to Mathias Sinning (ANU) for his exceptional contribution to Austaxpolicy over a decade. Mathias was one of the founding editors of Austaxpolicy alongside Miranda Stewart (UniMelb, NYU) at its launch in December 2015.

We are also delighted to welcome Associate Professor John Minas (Monash), Dr Todd Morris (UQ) and Dr Claudio Labanca (Monash) as co-editors, effective August 2025. John Minas is a leading expert in tax law and policy and heads the Tax Law and Policy Research Group in the Department of Business Law and Taxation at Monash. Todd Morris is an empirical economist whose interests span public economics, labour economics and the economics of ageing. Claudio Labanca is also an economist with broad expertise in labour economics, public economics and applied microeconomics.

Drawing on our collective expertise in tax and transfer policy and economics, Austaxpolicy will continue to publish rigorous, timely research that engages with the most important issues relevant to tax and transfer reform and social welfare—in Australia and internationally. We have recently published analyses and insights from the Economics Roundtable held in Canberra, and further contributions will be released in coming weeks.

Best wishes,

Editors Sonali Walpola and Yuan (Helen) Ping and Project Officer Teck Chi Wong.
